Not just head-to-tail
[edit]The opening sentence implies that only head-to-tail cyclic peptides qualify as cyclic peptides, even though side chain-to-side chain CPs such as oxytocin are mentioned later.
I'll paraphrase some of my thesis intro into this article once it's done :) Muffamuff (talk) 02:03, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
Suggestions - questions to cover
[edit]- Is the resistance to digestion their main claim to fame ?
- Is it just the ones with no free amino or carboxyl ends that are resistant to digestion ?
- Are the cyclic peptides also less absorbed by the gut lining ?
- Why do we single out bicyclic peptides in particular ? (do they have special properties ?)
- Presumably lantibiotics are all cyclic peptides ? They have 19-37 residues and 1 to 5 'bridges'.
- Which of the examples are biosynthesised, and which are designed drug molecules ? - Rod57 (talk) 14:57, 13 January 2018 (UTC)
